Photo of Susan Mumaw Susan Mumaw has been an employee of Lockheed Martin since June 1995. During her first year she worked at Defense Systems in Pittsfield, MA, as a Power Systems Engineer for the Trident II FBM program. She was also a student in the Lockheed Martin Engineer Leadership Development Program (ELDP). In September of 1996, she transferred to Astronautics in Denver, CO and began working on Mars '98 and Stardust programs in the Avionics Department testing the Pyro Initiation Unit. In June of 1997, Susan graduated from the ELDP program. After the launch of Mars '98 and Stardust, she worked in the power design group on the Mars 2001 Lander. Susan earned a patent for her design of the Battery Cell By-Pass Circuit that was used on the Lander spacecraft. She also supported Mars Odyssey through power testing in the Avionics Department. In August of 2000, she moved to Mission Operations Power Subsystem for Mars Global Surveyor (MGS), Stardust and Odyssey missions.

Susan received her Associates of Engineering Degree from SUNY Broome Community College in 1993. She received her B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson University in 1995. Susan also received her Masters of Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2000.
